The 10th annual University of Utah College of Pharmacy was held on March 10, 2018 at the University Guest House Conference Center. All proceeds from this event were donated to the Maliheh Free Clinic and student outreach programs.
This year’s gala was carnival themed, and its’ activities included a silent auction, photobooth, a multi-course dinner, carnival-themed games, and three guest speakers. Guest speaker Dr. Katie Traylor, a Pharmacy preceptor at Maliheh Clinic, spoke about the importance of volunteering and interacting with Salt Lake’s community. Dr. Sonya Sarfraz, a volunteer at Maliheh Clinic, discussed the impact that Maliheh Clinic has on marginalized families through the use of a personal anecdote. Jeff Sperry, a P2 PharmD student, spoke about the significance of student outreach and the importance of “the little things” in life. The 2018 gala committee worked tirelessly for weeks to put on a memorable, charitable, and fun night; They succeeded!
