Congratulations to Molecular Pharmaceutics PhD student Tanya Chhibber (Ghandehari Lab) and Biomedical Engineering PhD student Sushanto Kumar Saha (Ghandehari Lab) for winning Best Poster Awards at the 2025 University of Utah College of Pharmacy Research Retreat!
The retreat, held September 19–20 at the Zermatt Hotel in Midway, UT, brought together faculty, postdocs, and students to share research and build community. Participants engaged in presentations, networking sessions, and team-building activities.
Tanya’s poster, “Topical Application of Ultradeformable Cationic Liposomes Loaded with Highly Specific AURKB Inhibitor as a Chemopreventive Strategy for Melanoma,” is on her work developing transdermal delivery systems for melanoma chemoprevention. Reflecting on the event, Tanya shared, “The retreat was a truly valuable experience — it brought us together, sparked great conversations, and gave me a deeper appreciation for the diverse research happening across the College.”
Sushanto’s poster, “Modulation of Cell Signaling Pathways in Silica Nanoparticle-Saturated Macrophages,” explores how the physicochemical properties of silica nanoparticles influence macrophage survival and immune response, with implications for safer systemic delivery applications. He shared, “The retreat brought together people from different backgrounds across the College of Pharmacy. It was great to learn about the amazing work people are doing.”
Congratulations to Tanya and Sushanto on this recognition!
