Molecular Pharmaceutics Students Awarded Skaggs Graduate Research Fellowship
Congratulations to our Molecular Pharmaceutics PhD students who were awarded a 2026-2027 Skaggs Graduate Research Fellowship from the College of Pharmacy!
Oliver Hubbard's (Ghandehari Lab) research aims to improve drug dosing for critically ill children on life support through the development and validation of a novel diagnostic tool. He collaborates closely with both the Department of Molecular Pharmaceutics as well as the Division of Clinical Pharmacology in Pediatrics to make this work possible.
Julius Tuekpe (Lim Lab) studies new gene therapy approaches for liver cancer, focusing on engineered p53 fusion proteins designed to trigger cancer cell death more effectively than traditional p53 therapies. His research uses an improved adenoviral delivery system to test mitochondrial and nuclear p53-based treatments, including p53-Bad* and p53-CC for hepatocellular carcinoma.
