Job Description

Assists in organizing and implementing fundraising campaigns and special development projects for the College of Pharmacy. Identify, cultivate, and steward alumni and donors for gifts. Organize the Alumni Association and provide staff support for the Alumni Board and events.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with development activities for the College of Pharmacy, including cultivating alumni, donors and prospective donors, soliciting gifts, and assuring appropriate acknowledgement of all contributions
  • Organizes the Alumni Association and provides staff support for the Alumni Board
  • Coordinates events of the Alumni Board and promotes alumni participation both in Utah and out of state
  • Oversees the annual White Coat campaign and Alumni of the Year Award
  • Encourages student engagement at all college activities
  • Follows up with donors through annual fund and phonathon campaigns
  • Runs monthly giving report
  • Maintains written communication with donors and alumni through thank you notes, email, and alumni newsletter
  • Maintains the College of Pharmacy alumni list updates
  • Tracks the graduating classes for job placement and helps in preparing the report to ACPE
  • Assists with design and implementation of new ideas and development campaigns
  • Organizes and assists with the solicitation strategies of donors
  • Oversees campaign activities such as special events, communications, personal associations, and membership in community organizations
  • Prepares proposals by performing research, meeting with potential donors, corporations or foundations
  • Coordinates volunteer services and acts as a liaison with volunteer advisory boards, department administrators, donors, university development office, and community organizations
  • Maintains a database and file of all donor transactions and related development information
  • Coordinates publicity for development events by determining the most effective advertising medium and approach. Prepares public service announcements, interviews, and other media and press releases in collaboration with the Specialty Media Coordinator and Public Affairs in the HSC
  • Plans or assists with planning receptions, press releases, and other forms of recognition. Works with other units (e.g. Specialty Media Coordinator, HSC Public Affairs)
