INVEST THROUGH A SCHOLARSHIP

Investing in University of Utah College of Pharmacy students through a scholarship transforms the educational experience. Scholarships allow students time to participate in extracurricular activities such as campus events, service projects, and research initiatives. Scholarships also make it possible for students to work less while in school, which significantly increases their success.

Please click through the tabs below to explore scholarship opportunities at the University of Utah College of Pharmacy.

    First year free scholarship Program

In 2023, the University of Utah College of Pharmacy launched the First Year Free Scholarship program with support from many donors, including The ALSAM Foundation, founded by L. S. and Aline W. Skaggs.

First Year Free is the first program of its kind in the nation and ensures University of Utah PharmD students begin their journey of becoming a pharmacist at no cost their first year.

    Support First Year Free

Donor support is essential to the continued success of the First Year Free Scholarship Program. Supporters are invited to contribute to the First Year Free Scholarship Endowment or create a named scholarship endowment of their own to provide first-year pharmacy students with a strong start to their educational journey. To learn more about establishing a scholarship, please visit the “Create a Scholarship” page.

    Support Existing Scholarships

Scholarships are among the most meaningful investments we can make in our students and the future of pharmacy. The College of Pharmacy is fortunate to have many established scholarship funds that donors may support, and gifts of every size make a lasting impact.

Growing our scholarship endowments is a critical part of our mission, ensuring that generations of future pharmacists have access to educational opportunities and the support they need to succeed. We invite you to explore our endowed scholarship funds and consider making a contribution to a cause that resonates with you. Several of our most popular scholarships also have dedicated giving pages for those who wish to support them directly.

    Create a Scholarship

Investing in the future of pharmacy education through a scholarship is a wonderful way to give back, recognize your lifetime achievements, and/or honor someone who made a difference in your life.

Donors to the College of Pharmacy who are interested in establishing a Named Scholarship may consider a couple of paths:

    Annually Funded Scholarship – $2,000+
Provide immediate support to College of Pharmacy students through an annual scholarship commitment. Annual scholarship donors are encouraged to create a scholarship agreement pledging their support for at least (4) years.

    Endowed Scholarship – $50,000+
Create a permanent legacy of support. Endowed scholarships are invested by the University of Utah, and after a one-year growth period, a portion of the investment earnings is awarded to students each year—in perpetuity. A larger scholarship endowment will result in larger scholarship awards each year. Donors may choose to fund their endowment over a period of 5 years and are welcome to continue to grow the endowment with future gifts once it is fully established.
