Distinguished Professor Jindřich Henry Kopeček Named as a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors for 2018
Distinguished Professor Jindřich Henry Kopeček, who pioneered research in the design of polymer-drug conjugates and hydrogel biomaterials, and co-director of the Center of Controlled Chemical Delivery, was one of 148 academic inventors named as a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors for 2018. This prestigious award is another in the list of Professor Kopeček’s recognized accomplishments.
Henry Kopeček has been with the U for more than 30 years, with a dual appointment in the biomedical engineering department. He has been a mentor to students and post-doctoral students in both departments. Just last year, a number of his former students came to Utah to celebrate the research that has inspired so many students to continue their careers in the same dedicated fashion that Kopeček displays.
We congratulate Henry for showing us how to remain such an active researcher in a field where being a shining star can be difficult due to the talent that continues to keep pharmaceutics & bioengineering as major areas of research interest.
