The University of Utah College of Pharmacy provides each professional student the ability to lodge complaints about the professional program regarding the Accreditation Council on Pharmacy Education (ACPE) Standards. Any professional student can provide a written complaint to the College about any accreditation standard (http://www.acpe-accredit.org/deans/standards.asp), student rights to due process, or any other unresolved issue. The College of Pharmacy is committed to resolving all complaints by due process in a timely manner.
Student Tools
PharmD students at the University of Utah College of Pharmacy from the Class of 2019 forward are required to complete a capstone research project during their third and fourth years. The purpose of the project is to help students transition from consumers to producers of knowledge. Completion of a project will enable the student to develop many key skills: professional writing, formal presenting, critical thinking, literature evaluation, project management, data collection, data analysis, and others.
Experiential education exposes students to contemporary pharmacy practice models. This includes interprofessional practice involving shared decision-making, professional ethics and expected behaviors, and direct patient care activities. Educators purposefully engage with learners in direct experience and focused reflection in order to develop the student’s professional practice.
PSURF:
This program provides professional students currently enrolled in the PharmD program with an opportunity to undertake an intensive, introductory research experience with faculty in the College of Pharmacy.
Wolf Prize:
Prize Purpose: To recognize and reward excellence in teaching, research and service by a graduating Ph.D. student in any Department at the College of Pharmacy who demonstrated interest in pursuing an academic career.

PharmBUDs, created by PharmD students Sierra and Liz, is an interview-led podcast hoping to spark curiosity in prospective and current pharmacy students through candid conversations. Guests from diverse areas of pharmacy expertise share their narratives to inspire a passion for pharmacy aimed at advancing the future of the profession.
Sierra and Liz are “buds” or friends so it seemed important to emphasize that their relationship first budded in pharmacy school. BUDs; however, stands for beyond-use dates. The beyond-use date of a prescription represents the last day the product can be used safely by the patient. Similar to expiration dates, these BUDs are assigned to pharmaceutical products that are manufactured on a smaller scale.
