Garrison Nickel – Eccles Fellowship Recipient
Garrison is currently a third-year PhD student in the Department of Medicinal Chemistry, working in the laboratory of Dr. Katharine Diehl. His research focuses on the roles of post-translational modifications of histone proteins. He is currently studying the lactyl PTM, which is regulated by cellular metabolite levels and has been linked to tumorigenesis and poor prognosis in several cancer types.
