Congratulations to Dr. Mingnan Chen and team whose article “Antibody-mediated depletion of programmed death 1-positive (PD-1+) cells” was recently published in the Journal of Controlled Release! This article reports the first depleting antibody against mouse cells that express programmed death-1 (PD-1). The antibody (D-aPD-1) is a useful tool to investigate roles of PD-1-positive cells in autoimmune diseases and cancers and a prototype of new therapeutics targeting the cells. Special recognition is due to lead author Yujia Zhai, who is a first-year graduate student in the Department of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Chemistry. Congratulations to Dr. Chen, Yujia, Dr. Shuyun Dong, and the entire research group!
