Drs. Shreya Goel and Makoto Kondo Named as 2023 VPCAT Scholars
Congratulations to Department of Molecular Pharmaceutics Assistant Professor Dr. Shreya Goel and Research Assistant Professor Dr. Makoto Kondo for being accepted into the Vice President's Clinical and Translational (VPCAT) Research Scholars Program.
The two-year program is designed to offer intensive mentorship and support to early-stage faculty members engaged in clinical and translational research in transitioning to accomplished, funded principal investigators. It uses the Matrix Mentoring Model of five synergistic types of mentorship: Self, Scientific, Peer, Staff, and Senior. It also includes Structured curriculum focused on enhancing leadership competencies and essential knowledge and practical skills to be an effective clinical and translational researcher and access to resources to facilitate appropriate study design, collection of pilot data, and preparation and submission of competitive grant applications.
Acceptance as a VPCAT scholar is a major accomplishment, and we are excited to see where this opportunity will lead Drs. Goel and Kondo. Congratulations!
