Details about the 2018 College of Pharmacy Convocation

University-Wide Commencement Information

The University of Utah General Commencement is the campus-wide opening ceremony, kicking off many events across campus and serving as a collective celebration of the University community and the collective success/accomplishments of the graduating class. It will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at 6:30pm in the Jon M. Huntsman Center.

College of Pharmacy Convocation

Convocation will be held Friday, May 4, 2018 at 9 AM in the Olpin Union Ballroom. The ceremony can also be viewed via live stream.

Line-up/Seating of Graduates

Students will receive specific instructions via email as we get closer to Convocation.

Guest Seating

Family and friends are invited to attend convocation.  Tickets are not required.  Parking is open all day of graduation.

Special Seating/Accommodations

The College requests that guests give reasonable prior notice and, since space is limited, plan to arrive early.


Campus parking lots may be used at no charge during Convocation and Commencement ceremonies. Families are encouraged to drop off elderly guests and those who cannot walk long distances in front of the Ballroom of the Student Union Building before parking their cars. There is a parking lot directly east of the Union Building for parking. Guests may also park in other lots and catch a University shuttle to the Student Union Building.


There will be a reception held immediately after convocation at approximately 11 a.m. at the College of Pharmacy L. S. Skaggs Pharmacy Institute.  All graduates, family, friends and faculty are invited to attend.


Diplomas will be mailed from the Office of the Registrar to student graduates within three months of graduation.
