Dr. Karen S. Wilcox Named Distinguished Professor | College of Pharmacy | UUH

Each year, the University of Utah recognizes the achievements of exceptional faculty members in teaching, research, mentorship and service. This year, Dr. Karen S. Wilcox was honored six new University of Utah Distinguished Professors.

Dr. Wilcox was honored at the 2023 Faculty Awards, part of the 2023 Commencement Ceremonies. She is the Chair of the Pharmacology and Toxicology Department in the College of Pharmacy, as well as the Director of the Anticonvulsant Drug Development (ADD) Program.

From her nomination letter, "Dr. Wilcox is a dedicated contributor to the educational missions of the University and her profession and engages in superb individual instruction/mentoring that is recognized nationally for its distinguished quality . . . . She is one of those select faculty members whose achievements in research exemplify the highest goals of the research mission and which have been recognized by her peers at the national and international levels. Dr. Wilcox also demonstrates exceptional committment to teaching and, especially, mentoring, with her mentoring having been formally recognized by her trainees and the National Institutes of Health for its exceptional quality."
