Karen Wilcox receives 2025 Distinguished Research Award

PharmTox Chair and ADD Director Joins Historic Company of Utah Faculty with DRA

Esteemed Professor, Chair of the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, and Director of the Anticonvulsant Drug Development (ADD) Program, Karen Wilcox, PhD, has been named a 2025 Distinguished Research Award recipient by the University of Utah.

Distinguished Research Awards (DRA) are presented to a very limited number of faculty members each year, who exemplify the University's advancing knowledge while improving lives mission, and whose research amplifies creativity, discovery, and public impact. Dr. Wilcox is one of four DRA recipients this year, for her renowned work in neuroscience.

“The Distinguished Research Award is one of the most prestigious awards at the university. It honors faculty who have dedicated their lives to research and serving the public,” said Jakob Jensen, Associate Vice President for Research. “The awardees are all high impact researchers with a long track record of working to benefit the people of Utah.”
