Graduation Events Information

Class of 2024 Convocation

Date: Friday, May 10th, 2024
Time: 2:00pm
Location: Kingsbury Hall, University of Utah Campus

INSTRUCTIONS:

Tickets - Will be required to the ceremony at Kingsbury Hall, but they will not be limited per person.

Everyone needs a ticket for this event, including any guests, even children and babies in arms. Kingsbury is being very strict. Tickets will not be replaced, and they must be picked up in the Dean’s Office and signed out. You can ask anyone in the Dean’s Office and they can help you sign out the number of tickets you need. The good news is that there is no limit to the number of people who can attend. Tickets will be available for sign out starting Monday, April 10th.

Parking: Will be available at the Merrill Engineering Parking Lot (Lot 39), where a shuttle can be taken to the convocation's venue. Download Map.

Strollers: There will be a tent available for strollers outside the main doors of Kingsbury Hall (more information below).

After Graduation: After the Graduation ceremony, please join us for a reception in the College of Pharmacy atrium with our traditional cinnamon knots, brownies, U sugar cookies and flavored water. There is a parking moratorium for the event, so feel free to park in the lots around the College in any spot that isn’t labelled ‘Reserved'. If you cannot find an open slot in the uncovered lots, feel free to use the covered parking structure to the East of our College. Enter the code: PHARMGRAD in the kiosk to prevent a ticket.

Regalia Information

PharmD graduates wear the U of Utah PhD Doctor Package with an olive green hood, and the flat mortarboard hat (not the tam). Graduates, please beware of shoes that you may trip in. Student regalia will be available to purchase through the Campus Store website beginning March 1^st. Regalia will be available to pick up or will ship directly to the students the week of March 20^th. In the event that students would like more information or to order in-person, our annual Grad Fair will be held March 30^th- April 1^st at the Campus Store. Student regalia will still be available to purchase in-store or online through the month of May.

The President's Office, at the recommendation of Public Safety, has asked that we implement the same security measures at Kingsbury Hall that are used at Rice-Eccles Stadium and Huntsman Center. We are in full support of providing a safe and enjoyable experience to our students, their guests, faculty, and staff.

The below image outlines what items are prohibited inside the auditorium and should be left at home or in your vehicle. We will be conducting weapons screening at all event centers on campus, for all Convocations.
