  • Joanita Lake is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacotherapy within the University of Utah College of Pharmacy. She has a joint appointment as a researcher (WOC) at the Salt Lake City Veterans Affairs Center. She received her pharmacy degree from the University of Port Elizabeth, South Africa in 2000 and a Master’s degree in Evidence-based Healthcare from the University of Oxford, England in 2009. Her professional work as a pharmacist in many different settings such as pharmaceutical companies and managed-care arenas, across developed and developing countries has exposed her to a diverse set of healthcare approaches, regulatory requirements, and healthcare policies. Since 2012, she has served as a clinical pharmacist at the Drug Regimen Review Center (DRRC) that provides services to Medicaid. Her research interests lie primarily in the areas of evidence-based health care, systematic reviews, drug safety, pharmacoepidemiology, pharmacoeconomics, and health policy.
